The Faith. EP 11 “ รักษาโทราห์ด้วยความเชื่อ ”

(TH) สวัสดีครับทุกคนวันนี้ก็จะเป็นบทความต่อเนื่องจากเมื่อวานน่ะครับ เมื่อวานเราพูดถึงการรักษาโทราห์ด้วยความกลัว แบบเสียไม่ได้ แบบตัวหนังสือ แต่วันนี้เราจะมาดูกันวันว่า เรารักษาโทราห์อย่างไร ถึงจะเรียกว่า ใช้ความเชื่อ เราต้องไม่ลืมนะครับ ยาห์ชัวไม่เคยบอกว่า ให้เลิกถือโทราห์หรือธรรมบัญญัติ แต่ยาห์ชัวกำลังพูดถึงการรักษาโทราห์ที่ไม่ตรงกับเจตนารมย์ของพระยาห์เวห์ แม้แต่ เปาโลเองก็ไม่เคยพูดอะไรแบบนั้น วันนี้เรามาดูกันครับ

“เพื่อความชอบธรรมของธรรมบัญญัติจะได้สำเร็จในตัวเราผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามพระวิญญาณ”

“เพราะว่าพระเมสิยาห์ทรงเป็นจุดจบของธรรมบัญญัติ เพื่อให้ทุกคนที่มีความเชื่อได้รับความชอบธรรม”

เราจะเห็นว่า ในโรมบทที่ 8 ข้อที่ 4 บอกว่า โทราห์จะสมบูรณ์ในคนที่ดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณแต่ไม่ดำเนินตามเนื้อหนัง และนั่นจะถือว่าเป็นความชอบธรรมแก่ผู้นั้น แต่ เอ๊ะ !! ทำไมในข้อที่ 10 กลับบอกว่า พระเมสิยาห์เป็นจุดจบของโทราห์ เหมือนจะบอกว่า ไม่ต้องรักษาโทราห์แล้ว แต่ในบทที่ 13:8-10 กลับมาบอกว่า ทำอย่างนี้แล้วการรักษาธรรมบัญญัติจะเรียกว่า “สำเร็จสมบูรณ์ครบถ้วน ”

“อย่าเป็นหนี้อะไรใครเลย นอกจากความรักซึ่งมีต่อกัน เพราะว่าผู้ที่รักคนอื่น ก็ได้ปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติครบถ้วนแล้ว ข้อที่ว่า “ห้ามล่วงประเวณีผัวเมียเขา ห้ามฆ่าคน ห้ามลักทรัพย์ ห้ามโลภ” ทั้งพระบัญญัติอื่นๆ ก็รวมอยู่ในข้อนี้คือ “จงรักเพื่อนบ้านเหมือนรักตนเอง” ความรักไม่ทำอันตรายต่อเพื่อนบ้านเลย เพราะฉะนั้นความรักจึงเป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้ธรรมบัญญัติสำเร็จอย่างครบถ้วน”

ตกลงว่า เปาโลเอาไงแน่ ยิ่งอ่านยิ่ง งง ก็งงแน่ๆแหละครับ เพราะแท้จริงมีจุดหนึ่งที่มีการแปลผิดโดยความไม่เข้าใจอยู่ นั้นคือ ในบทที่ 10:4 ที่บอกว่า พระเมสิยาห์เป็นจุดจบของธรรมบัญญัติ แท้จริง มาจากคำว่า “The end of“ ที่หมายถึง ”เส้นชัย“

เอาล่ะครับ พอเริ่มเห็นที่มาที่ไปแล้วใช่มั้ยครับ ว่าแท้จริงไม่ได้หมายถึง “จุดจบ” แต่หมายถึง การสิ้นสุด หรือหมายถึง “เส้นชัย” กล่าวคือ ไม่มีมนุษย์คนใดจะสามารถรักษาโทราห์ได้ เพราะบาปของเขาเป็นตัวฉุดรั้งเขาไว้และเขายังเป็นทาสของบาปอยู่ แต่ !! พระเมสิยาห์ ที่มีพระนามว่า “ยาห์ชัว” ที่แปลว่า “ความรอดของพระยาห์เวห์”

ได้ช่วยเขาให้ไปถึงความสามารถที่จะรักษาโทราห์ได้อย่างถูกต้องเสียที และนั่นจะเป็นเหตุให้คนคนนั้นถูกนับว่า “เป็นผู้ชอบธรรม” ได้นั่นเอง ครับ ผมเลยขอปรับคำให้ถูกต้องนะครับ ก็จะออกมาแบบนี้ครับ และเราลองอ่านต่อกันดูจะพบว่า ทั้ง 3 ข้อ สอดคล้องกันมากๆไม่งงอีกต่อไปแล้ว

ว้าว อ่านต่อกันแล้วมันฟินจริงๆน่ะครับ ยาห์ชัว พระเมสิยาห์ พระองค์ทรงพยายามอธิบายความหมายของโทราห์ให้ฟารีสีเข้าใจมากขึ้นว่า ต้องใช้ความรัก ในการถือรักษาธรรมบัญญัติทั้งหมด นั่นจึงจะเรียกว่า “เป็นผู้มีความเชื่อ” มาดูกันครับว่า ยาห์ชัวตรัสไว้ว่าอย่างไรบ้าง ?

ตัวอย่างของบัญญัติ เรื่องห้ามล่วงประเวณี

“ท่านทั้งหลายได้ยินคำซึ่งกล่าวไว้ว่า ‘ห้ามล่วงประเวณีผัวเมียเขา’ ส่วนเราบอกพวกท่านว่า ใครมองผู้หญิงด้วยใจกำหนัดในหญิงนั้น คนนั้นได้ล่วงประเวณีในใจของเขากับหญิงนั้นแล้ว ถ้าตาข้างขวาของท่านทำให้ตัวท่านหลงผิด จงควักออกทิ้งเสีย เพราะว่าถึงจะเสียอวัยวะอย่างหนึ่ง ก็ดีกว่าตัวท่านจะต้องลงนรก ถ้ามือข้างขวาของท่านทำให้ตัวท่านหลงผิด จงตัดทิ้งเสีย เพราะถึงจะเสียอวัยวะอย่างหนึ่ง ก็ดีกว่าตัวท่านจะต้องลงนรก”

ยาห์ชัวชี้ให้เห็นว่า ถ้าเราถือรักษาบัญญัติข้อนี้ ตามตัวหนังสือ เราก็จะแค่ไม่ล่วงเกินผ่านการกระทำเท่านั้น ใช่เราไม่ได้แอบไปมีเพศสัมพันธ์กับภรรยาหรือสามีคนอื่น ทางกาย แต่ยาห์ชัวบอกว่า แท้จริงแล้ว เราอาจจะแอบมีใจให้ชายอื่นหรือหญิงอื่น และ แอบล่วงเกินทางใจได้และนั้นเท่ากับ คุณล่วงประเวณีเหมือนกันนั้น เพราะ คุณได้นอกใจคุ่ชีวิตคุณทางใจเข้าแล้ว และนั้นก็คือ บาป สิ่งแบบนี้ไม่ควรเกิดขึ้นในใจใครเลย เอ้า ทำไมหล่ะ ใครจะไปห้ามใจได้ ? แต่เราลองคิดดูน่ะครับว่า ถ้าความคิดเราเปล่งเสียงได้และคู่ชีวิตเรารู้เขาจะเสียใจแค่ไหนครับ ในขณะที่เรากำลังฟินอยู่ในการแอบรักใครสักคนอยู่นั้น ทั้งๆที่เรามีคนรักอยู่แล้ว เราก็กำลังทำร้ายหัวใจคู่ชีวิตเราอยู่นั้นเอง หรือในทางกลับกัน ถ้าเราเป็นคนโสดที่แอบรักคนมีเจ้าของ เราก็กำลังทำร้ายพี่น้องเราให้ครอบครัวเขาแตกนั้นเอง หัวใจแบบนี้ มันดีมั้ยครับ ? ใช่แล้วใครก็รู้ว่า มันแย่มากๆ แต่นั้นแหละครับ เราทุกคนเคยพลาดทำสิ่งนี้ไม่มากก็น้อย

และนี้ต่างหากที่พระยาห์เวห์ต้องการรักษาจิตวิญญาณเราให้เป็นผู้ที่มีความซื่อสัตย์ต่อคำสัญญา นั้นหมายถึง

ถ้าคุณยังยินดีกับความคิดแบบนี้แม้เป็นเพียงแค่ความคิด คุณก็คือ “ คนไม่ซื่อสัตย์คนนึง ” นั้นเอง

“แต่พวกที่ขี้ขลาด พวกที่ไม่เชื่อ พวกที่ประพฤติอย่างน่าสะอิดสะเอียน พวกฆาตกร พวกล่วงประเวณี พวกใช้เวทมนตร์ พวกบูชารูปเคารพ และทุกคนที่โกหกนั้น มรดกของพวกเขาอยู่ในบึงที่ไฟและกำมะถันกำลังลุกไหม้อยู่ ซึ่งเป็นความตายครั้งที่สอง””

ดูสิครับ ในอาณาจักรสวรรค์ไม่มีคนแบบนี้อยู่เลยน่ะครับ แม้คุณจะยอมรับยาห์ชัวมาเป็นพระผู้ช่วยให้รอดแต่คุณไม่ยอมรับการช่วยเหลือจากพระองค์ในการเปลี่ยนแปลงจิตใจใหม่ จะมีประโยชน์อะไรครับ คุณคิดว่า อะไรจะทำให้คุณได้รับการยอมรับจากพระองค์ในวันแห่งการพิพากษาด้วยเหรอครับ

แล้วเราจะทำยังไงในเมื่อทุกคนก็เจอปัญหานี้ ใครก็ตกอยู่ในสภาพกันหมด แบบนี้ใครจะรอดได้ ใช่มั้ยครับ

คำพูดนี้คุ้นๆมั้ยครับ ?

“ยาห์ชัวตรัสกับสาวกทั้งหลายของพระองค์ว่า “เราบอกความจริงกับท่านทั้งหลายว่า คนร่ำรวยจะเข้าในแผ่นดินสวรรค์ก็ยาก เราบอกพวกท่านอีกว่า เชือกทั้งเส้นจะลอดรูเข็มก็ยังง่ายกว่าที่คนมั่งมีจะเข้าในแผ่นดินของพระเจ้า” เมื่อพวกสาวกได้ยินก็อัศจรรย์ใจมาก จึงทูลว่า “ถ้าอย่างนั้นใครจะรอดได้?” พระเยซูทอดพระเนตรดูบรรดาสาวกและตรัสว่า “สิ่งนี้เป็นไปไม่ได้สำหรับมนุษย์ แต่ทุกสิ่งเป็นไปได้สำหรับพระเจ้า””

โหวแต่ล่ะข้อ ทำไมยากจัง จริงของสาวกที่ถึงกับเอ่ยถามยาห์ชัวว่า ยากขนาดนี้จะมีใครทำได้ แล้วแบบนี้ใครจะรอด ? ใช่ครับ เราทำด้วยตัวเราเอง ไม่น่าจะได้ เราห้ามความคิดเราไม่ได้ เรามีใจเอื้อเฟื้อเผื่อแผ่ขนาดนี้ไม่ได้ ด้วยตัวเราทำไม่ได้ครับ เพราะเราบาป เชื้อความบาปยังอยู่ในเรา แต่!!!! ทางออกเป็นแบบนี้ครับ

“ถ้าเช่นนั้น สิ่งที่ดีกลับทำให้ข้าพเจ้าต้องตายหรือ? เปล่าเลย บาปต่างหาก คือบาปซึ่งอาศัยสิ่งที่ดีนั้นทำให้ข้าพเจ้าต้องตาย เพื่อจะให้ปรากฏว่าบาปนั้นเป็นบาปจริง และโดยอาศัยพระบัญญัตินั้น บาปก็ปรากฏว่าชั่วร้ายยิ่งนัก เรารู้ว่าธรรมบัญญัตินั้นเป็นเรื่องฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณ แต่ว่าข้าพเจ้าเป็นเนื้อหนังถูกขายเป็นทาสให้อยู่ใต้บาป ข้าพเจ้าไม่เข้าใจการกระทำของข้าพเจ้าเอง เพราะว่าข้าพเจ้าไม่ทำสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาที่จะทำ แต่กลับทำสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าเกลียดชังนั้น ถ้าข้าพเจ้าทำสิ่งที่ไม่ปรารถนาจะทำ ขณะที่ยอมรับว่าธรรมบัญญัตินั้นดี ข้าพเจ้าจึงไม่ใช่ผู้ทำ แต่ว่าบาปซึ่งอยู่ในตัวข้าพเจ้านั่นเองเป็นผู้ทำ ด้วยว่าในตัวข้าพเจ้า คือในเนื้อหนังของข้าพเจ้าไม่มีความดีใดอยู่เลย เพราะว่าเจตนาดีข้าพเจ้าก็มีอยู่ แต่การดีนั้นไม่สามารถทำได้เลย คือว่าการดีนั้นซึ่งข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาทำ ก็ไม่ได้ทำ แต่การชั่วซึ่งข้าพเจ้าไม่ปรารถนาทำ ก็ยังทำอยู่ ถ้าแม้ข้าพเจ้ายังทำสิ่งซึ่งไม่ปรารถนาจะทำ ก็ไม่ใช่ตัวข้าพเจ้าเป็นผู้ทำ แต่บาปซึ่งอยู่ในตัวข้าพเจ้านั่นเองเป็นผู้ทำ ดังนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงพบว่ามีกฎธรรมดาอย่างหนึ่ง คือเมื่อไรที่ข้าพเจ้าตั้งใจจะทำความดี ก็มักจะเลือกทำชั่วซึ่งอยู่ใกล้ตัว เพราะว่าส่วนลึกในใจของข้าพเจ้านั้น ก็ชื่นชมในธรรมบัญญัติของพระเจ้า แต่ข้าพเจ้าเห็นมีกฎอีกอย่างหนึ่งอยู่ในอวัยวะของข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งต่อสู้กับกฎแห่งจิตใจของข้าพเจ้า และชักนำให้อยู่ใต้บังคับกฎแห่งบาป ซึ่งอยู่ในอวัยวะของข้าพเจ้า โอย ข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนน่าสมเพชอะไรเช่นนี้? ใครจะช่วยให้พ้นจากร่างกายแห่งความตายนี้ ขอบพระคุณพระเจ้า โดยทางยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ฉะนั้นทางด้านจิตใจข้าพเจ้ารับใช้ธรรมบัญญัติของพระเจ้า แต่ทางฝ่ายเนื้อหนังข้าพเจ้ารับใช้กฎแห่งบาป”

เราจะเห็นว่า ยาห์ชัว และ เปาโล พูดตรงกันว่า “ มนุษย์อาจจะทำไม่ได้แต่ถ้าโดย พระเจ้าพระยาห์เวห์ เขาจะทำได้ ”

“ยาห์ชัวทอดพระเนตรดูบรรดาสาวกและตรัสว่า “สิ่งนี้เป็นไปไม่ได้สำหรับมนุษย์ แต่ทุกสิ่งเป็นไปได้สำหรับพระเจ้า””

“โอย ข้าพเจ้าเป็นคนน่าสมเพชอะไรเช่นนี้? ใครจะช่วยให้พ้นจากร่างกายแห่งความตายนี้ ขอบพระคุณพระเจ้า โดยทางยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยห์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ฉะนั้นทางด้านจิตใจข้าพเจ้ารับใช้ธรรมบัญญัติของพระเจ้า แต่ทางฝ่ายเนื้อหนังข้าพเจ้ารับใช้กฎแห่งบาป”

เปาโลอธิบายว่า ถ้าเขาอยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณของยาห์ชัวที่อยู่ภายใน เขาจะสามารถเชื่อฟังทำตามทำบัญญัติได้ แต่ถ้าเขาอยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนังเขาก็จะผ่ายแพ้ต่อบาป นั้นเอง นั้นจะอธิบายข้อต่อไปได้ชัดเจนมากๆครับ

“เพราะว่ากฎของพระวิญญาณแห่งชีวิตในยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์ได้ทำให้ท่านพ้นจากกฎแห่งบาปและความตาย เพราะว่าสิ่งซึ่งธรรมบัญญัติทำไม่ได้ เพราะเนื้อหนังทำให้มันอ่อนกำลังไปนั้น พระเจ้าได้ทรงทำแล้ว โดยพระองค์ทรงใช้พระบุตรของพระองค์เองมา ในสภาพเสมือนเนื้อหนังที่บาป และเพื่อไถ่บาป พระบุตรในเนื้อหนังจึงได้ทรงลงโทษบาป เพื่อความชอบธรรมของธรรมบัญญัติจะได้สำเร็จในตัวเราผู้ไม่ดำเนินตามเนื้อหนัง แต่ตามพระวิญญาณ เพราะว่าคนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง ก็สนใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของเนื้อหนัง แต่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ ก็สนใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของพระวิญญาณ การเอาใจใส่เนื้อหนังก็คือความตาย และการเอาใจใส่พระวิญญาณ ก็คือชีวิตและสันติสุข”

เห็นมั้ยครับ ประโยคนี้ตอกย้ำมากๆว่า เราจะสามารถทำตามธรรมบัญญัติ ยากๆนี้ได้ด้วยการ เชื่อฟัง พระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ นั้นเอง

หากเราไม่มีพระวิญญาณก็จะยากมากหรืออาจจะเรียกว่า ไม่สามารถทำตามบัญญัติได้เลย ก็ว่าได้

“เพราะว่าคนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายเนื้อหนัง ก็สนใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของเนื้อหนัง แต่คนทั้งหลายที่อยู่ฝ่ายพระวิญญาณ ก็สนใจในสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของพระวิญญาณ การเอาใจใส่เนื้อหนังก็คือความตาย และการเอาใจใส่พระวิญญาณ ก็คือชีวิตและสันติสุข เพราะว่าการเอาใจใส่เนื้อหนังนั้นคือการเป็นศัตรูต่อพระเจ้า ไม่ปฏิบัติตามธรรมบัญญัติของพระเจ้า และที่จริงไม่สามารถปฏิบัติตามได้ และคนที่อยู่ในเนื้อหนัง จะเป็นที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้าก็ไม่ได้”

เอาหล่ะครับมาถึงตรงนี้ใครอ่านและติดตามมาตั้งแต่ EP 1 ก็น่าจะพอเห็นภาพแล้วว่าจริงๆ ความเชื่อ มีประโยชน์ อย่างไรและจำเป็นเพียงไรที่จะทำให้เราชอบธรรมได้จริงๆ และ ไม่ว่าจะอย่างไร โทราห์ ก็ยังคงเป็นมาตรฐานของผู้ชอบธรรมอยู่ดี เพียงแต่ มนุษญ์ ไม่อาจรักษาโทราห์ได้สมบูรณ์หากปราศจากความช่วยเหนือจากพระยาห์เวห์ ผ่านทางพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ทีนี้ สรุปว่า ความเชื่อ คือ อะไรครับ ? ความเชื่อ คือ ความแน่ใจว่า “ยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์จะสามารถช่วยคุณให้รอดได้ ด้วยการทำให้คุณสามารถเอาชนะบาปได้นั้นเอง” ใน บทต่อไป เราจะพูดถึงเรื่องนี้กันครับ สำหรับวันนี้พอเท่านี้ก่อนครับ

The Faith. EP 11 “ Keep the Torah with faith ”

(EN) Hello everyone, today will be a continuation from yesterday. Yesterday we talked about observing the Torah with a fear, like a written rule. But today we will look at how we can observe the Torah in a way that is called having faith. We must not forget that Yahshua never said to stop observing the Torah or the commandments. Rather, Yahshua was talking about observing the Torah in a way that does not align with the intention of Yahweh. Even Paul himself never said anything like that. Let’s take a look today.

Romans 8:4

For Messiah is the goal of the Torah for righteousness to everyone that believes.
Romans 10:4

We see that in Romans chapter 8 verse 4 it says that the Torah will be fulfilled in those who walk according to the Spirit but not according to the flesh, and that will be considered righteousness for that person. But wait!! Why does verse 10 then say that the Messiah is the end of the Torah, as if to say that the Torah no longer needs to be kept? However, in chapter 13:8-10, it again states that by doing this, keeping the law will be called ‘fully complete’.

Owe no one, anything, except the continuing debt to love one another. For he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the Torah. For, “Do not commit adultery,” “do not murder,” “do not steal,” “do not bear false witness,” “do not lust,” and if there is any other commandment, in this word it is summed up, in the words, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love does not work evil to the neighbor. Then love is the fulfillment of Torah.

So what does Paul really mean? The more I read, the more confused I get. Of course, it’s confusing because there is actually one point where there was a misunderstanding in the translation. That is in chapter 10:4 which says that the Messiah is the end of the law. In reality, it comes from the term “The end of” which means “finish line.” The 1940 Thai version translates it this way.

“For Christ is the one who will fulfill the law, so that everyone who believes may receive righteousness.”

The complete Jewish edition uses the word ‘The Goal’ which translates to ‘goal’.

“Christ is the goal of the law, so that God may accept all who trust in Christ.”

Alright, now that we start to see the background, right? It actually does not mean ‘the end’ but refers to the conclusion or ‘the finish line’. This means that no human being can keep the Torah because their sins hold them back, and they are still a slave to sin. But!! The Messiah named ‘Yahshua’, which means ‘salvation of Yahweh’, has helped him reach the ability to keep the Torah correctly, and that will result in that person being considered ‘righteous’. So, I would like to correct the wording, and it will come out like this, and if we keep reading, we will find that all three points are very consistent and no longer confusing.

Wow, reading on it really feels great! Yahshua the Messiah is trying to explain the meaning of the Torah to the Pharisees, emphasizing that love must be used in observing all the commandments; that is what it means to be ‘a person of faith.’ Let’s see what Yahshua has said about this!

An example of the commandments regarding the prohibition of adultery.

You have heard that it was said to the ancients “Do not commit adultery.” But I say to you, Everyone looking at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. But if your right eye offends you, take it out and throw it from you, for it is profitable to you that one of your members should perish and all your body not be thrown into Hell. And if your right hand causes you to offend, cut it off and throw it from you, for it is profitable to you that one of your members should perish and all your body not be thrown into Hell.
Matthew 5:27-30

Yahshua points out that if we adhere to this commandment literally, we will only avoid transgressing through actions. Yes, we do not secretly have sexual relations with another’s husband or wife physically, but Yahshua says that in truth, we may secretly have feelings for another man or woman, and we can secretly commit adultery in our hearts, and that is equivalent to committing adultery. Because you have already betrayed your partner in your heart, and that is sin. Such things should not occur in anyone’s heart. So, why is that? Who can control their heart?

But let’s think about it, what if our thoughts could be voiced and our partners knew? How much would they be hurt? While we are enjoying secretly loving someone, even though we already have a partner, we are hurting our partner’s heart. Or conversely, if we are single and secretly love someone who is taken, we are also hurting their family, causing them to break apart. Is this kind of heart good? Yes, it is well known that it is very bad. But there you have it, we have all made this mistake to some extent.

And this is exactly what Yahweh desires, to keep our spirit as one who is faithful to the promises. This means that if you still agree with this kind of thought, even if it’s just a thought, you are ‘one dishonest person’ indeed.

But for the cowardly and unbelieving, and those having become sinful, and to murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and to all liars, their part will be in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Revelation 21:8

Look, in the kingdom of heaven, there are no people like this at all. Even if you accept Yahshua as the Savior, but you do not accept His help in changing your heart, what good will that do? What do you think will make you accepted by Him on the day of judgment? And what can we do when everyone faces this problem? Everyone is in this situation; how can anyone be saved? Right? Does this sound familiar to you?

And Yahshua said to His disciples, Truly I say to you that a rich man will with great difficulty enter into the kingdom of Heaven. And again I say to you, It is easier for a heavy rope to pass through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of YAHWEH. And His disciples were exceedingly astonished when they heard this, saying, Who then is able to gain eternal life? But having looked at them, Yahshua said to them, With men this is impossible, but with YAHWEH all things are possible.
Matthew 19:23-26

Wow, why is each point so difficult? It’s true what the disciples say when they even ask Yahshua, “If it’s this hard, who can do it?” So, who will be saved? Yes, we cannot do it by ourselves. We can’t control our thoughts. We can’t be this generous on our own. We can’t do it by ourselves because we are sinful, and the seed of sin still resides in us. But!!!! The solution is like this.

Did that which is good, therefore, become death to me? Far be it. But sin, that it might be seen to be sin, perfected death in me by means of that good Torah; that sin might be more condemned, by means of the commandment. For we know that the Torah is spiritual, but I am fleshly, having been sold under sin. For I do not know what I do. For I do not do the thing that I want; But I do the thing which I hate, this is what I do. But if I do what I do not wish to, I agree with the Torah, that it is good. Now then, it is not I who do it, but the sin which dominates in me. For I know that it does not fully dominate me, (that is in my flesh) but as far as good is concerned, the choice is easy for me to make, but to do it is difficult for me. For it is not the good that I desire to do, that I do. But it is the evil that I do not desire, that I do. But if I do what I do not desire, it is no longer I who do it, but the sin which dominates me. I find therefore that the Torah agrees with my conscience, when I desire to do good, but evil is always near, distracting me. For I delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man; but I see another law in my members having warred against the law of my mind, and taking me captive by the law of sin being in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this mortal body? I thank YAHWEH through Yahshua Messiah our Master! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the Torah of Elohim and with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:13-25

We can see that Yahshua and Paul agree that ‘what is impossible for man can be done through Elohim, Yahweh.’

But having looked at them, Yahshua said to them, With men this is impossible, but with YAHWEH all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26

O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this mortal body? I thank YAHWEH through Yahshua Messiah our Master! So then I myself with the mind truly serve the Torah of Elohim and with the flesh the law of sin.
Romans 7:24-25

Paul explains that if he is on the side of the Spirit of Yahshua within, he will be able to obey and follow the commandments. But if he is on the side of the flesh, he will succumb to sin. This will clarify the next point very well.

For the Law of the Spirit of life which is in Yahshua Messiah set me free from the law of sin and of death. For the Torah being powerless, in that it was weak through the flesh, Elohim sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous demand of the Torah might be fulfilled in us, those not walking according to flesh, but according to Spirit. For the ones that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh. And the ones according to Spirit mind the things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace;
Romans 8:2-6

Do you see? This sentence strongly emphasizes that we can follow these difficult commandments by obeying the Holy Spirit.

so that the righteous demand of the Torah might be fulfilled in us, those not walking according to flesh, but according to Spirit.
Romans 8:4

If we do not have the Spirit, it would be very difficult or one might say, it is impossible to follow the commandments.

For the ones that are according to flesh mind the things of the flesh. And the ones according to Spirit mind the things of the Spirit. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace; because the mind of the flesh is enmity towards Elohim; for it is not subject to the Torah of Elohim, for it is not possible to be so. And those being in the flesh are not able to please Elohim.
Romans 8:5-8

Alright, now that we’ve reached this point, those who have read and followed since EP 1 should be able to see clearly how belief is truly beneficial and necessary for us to be justified. Regardless, the Torah remains the standard for the righteous. However, humanity cannot keep the Torah completely without help from Yahweh through the Holy Spirit.

So, in summary, what is faith? Faith is the assurance that ‘Yahshua the Messiah can save you by enabling you to overcome sin.’ In the next chapter, we will discuss this topic further. For today, let’s leave it at that.
