The Faith. EP 13 “ ความเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย ”
(TH) สวัสดีครับทุกคนเมื่อวานหายไปหนึ่งวัน เพราะพอดีมีธุระต้อวไปทำที่ต่างจังหวัดและยุ่งมากๆทั้งวันเลยไม่สามารถเขียนบทความได้ขออภัยมา ณ ที่นี้ด้วยน่ะครับ เอาหล่ะครับมาต่อกันเลย
เมื่อครั้งก่อนเราคุยกันเรื่อง รับด้วยปาก หมายถึงมการยอมรับในตัว ยาห์ชัว ว่าเป็นพระเมสิยาห์และพระองค์มาช่วยเราให้รอดพ้นจากคำสาปแช่งทั้งหมด และต่อมา ต้องเชื่อด้วยใจว่า “พระองค์ฟื้นจากตายแล้ว” และทรงเป็น เครื่องบูชาลบล้างบาปนั้นเอง
การเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตายนี้สำคัญอย่างไรครับ ? ในพระธรรมโรม 10:10 บอกว่า “ การรับด้วยปากทำให้ท่านรอด และการเชื่อด้วยใจทำให้ท่านชอบธรรม ” ดังนั้นเราจะชอบธรรมได้ในสายพระเนตรของยาห์เวห์ได้นั้น เราต้อง เชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย แล้วมันหน้าตาอย่างไรครับ การเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย เนี้ย
สิ่งแรกคือ ในสมัยนั้น มีกลุ่มที่ไม่เชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตายอยู่ และผมก็แปลกใจที่คริสเตียนในปัจจุบันก็ยังคงมีกลุ่มคนที่ไม่เชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตายเช่นกัน มาดูพระคำกันครับ
“เมื่อเปาโลเห็นว่าคนที่อยู่ในที่ประชุมสภานั้นส่วนหนึ่งเป็นพวกสะดูสีและอีกส่วนหนึ่งเป็นพวกฟาริสี ท่านจึงพูดเสียงดังต่อหน้าที่ประชุมว่า “นี่แน่ะ พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าเป็นพวกฟาริสีและเป็นบุตรของฟาริสี ที่ข้าพเจ้าถูกไต่สวนเพราะมีความหวังในเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากความตาย” เมื่อท่านกล่าวอย่างนั้นแล้ว พวกฟาริสีกับพวกสะดูสีก็เกิดความขัดแย้ง และที่ประชุมก็แตกเป็นสองพวก (เพราะพวกสะดูสีเชื่อว่าการเป็นขึ้นจากตายนั้นไม่มี และทูตสวรรค์หรือวิญญาณก็ไม่มี แต่พวกฟาริสีเชื่อว่ามีทั้งนั้น)”

แล้วมันส่งผลอย่างไร ครับ ? มาดูพระคำที่เปาโลอธิบายความสำคัญของการเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตายกันครับ
“ถ้าเราประกาศว่าพระเมสิยาห์ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายแล้ว ทำไมบางคนในพวกท่านจึงพูดว่าการเป็นขึ้นจากความตายไม่มี? ถ้าการเป็นขึ้นมาจากความตายไม่มี พระเมสิยาห์ก็ไม่ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา ถ้าพระเมสิยาห์ไม่ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา การประกาศของเรานั้นก็ไร้ประโยชน์ และความเชื่อของท่านทั้งหลายก็ไร้ประโยชน์ด้วย และคนก็จะเห็นว่าเราเป็นพยานเท็จในเรื่องพระเจ้า เพราะเราเป็นพยานว่าพระองค์ทรงทำให้พระเมสิยาห์เป็นขึ้นมาแล้ว แต่ถ้าคนตายไม่ถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมาแล้ว พระเมสิยาห์ก็ไม่ได้เป็นขึ้นมา เพราะว่าถ้าคนตายไม่ถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา พระเมสิยาห์ก็ไม่ได้ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา และถ้าพระเมสิยาห์ไม่ได้ทรงถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา ความเชื่อของพวกท่านก็ไร้ประโยชน์ ท่านก็ยังคงอยู่ในบาปของตน และถ้าอย่างนั้นคนทั้งหลายที่ล่วงหลับในพระเมสิยาห์ก็พินาศไปด้วย ถ้าเรามีความหวังในพระเมสิยาห์เพียงแค่ในชีวิตนี้ เราก็เป็นพวกน่าเวทนาที่สุดของคนทั้งหมด”

ชัดเจนมากๆ ว่า การเชื่อเรื่อง “การเป็นขึ้นจากตาย” เป็นเรื่องสำคัญมากๆ เรียกว่า “เป็นแก่นของความเชื่อ ” เลยก็ว่าได้ครับ เปาโลถึงกับบอกว่า ถ้าเราไม่เชื่อเรื่องนี้ พวกเราคือคนที่น่าเวทนาที่สุด ทำไมเหรอครับ เพราะถ้าเราไม่เชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตายแล้วเราจะต้องการพระเมสิยาห์ไปทำไม ? และจะพูดให้ถูกอีกก็คือ “ความรอด” ที่พระคัมภีร์พูดถึง คือการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย หรือ การฟื้นคืนชีวิตของเหล่าบรรดาผู้เชื่อทุกคนนั้นเอง “ชีวิตนิรันดร์”เราหมายพูดถึงกัน คือ การฟื้นจากตายแล้วจะไม่ตายอีกเลยตลอดไป
แต่นั้นแหละครับ ไม่เชื่อก็ต้องเชื่อ ว่ามีหลายคนเลย ที่มาหาพระเมสิยาห์ เพราะอยากร่ำรวย อยากมีชื่อเสียง
อยากได้พรอื่นๆ อยากให้ชีวิตดี สามีรัก สามีหลง อยากให้ได้งานที่ดี และอื่นๆ เขาเข้ามาหาพระเมสิยาห์ผู้นี้เพราะคิดว่าพระองค์ จะเป็นสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ผู้ประทานพร แบบ ทันอกทันใจ และที่ซ้ำร้ายไปกว่านั้น กลับมีผู้เทศนา ที่ย้ำแต่เรื่องแบบนี้คือ ถ้าคุณมาเชื่อพระเยซูแล้วคุณจะรวย คุณจะมีชีวิตที่ดี ดูสิพระเจ้าอวยพรผมมากมาย ผมมั่งมี ไม่ขัดสนเลย ให้เราถวายเยอะๆ เพื่อพระเจ้าจะอวยพรคุณเยอะๆ โดยไม่มีใครให้คุณค่าของการเป็นขึ้นจากตายเลย
มาดูเปาโลพูดถึง “ความเชื่อ” นี้กันต่อครับ
“มิฉะนั้น พวกที่ให้รับบัพติศมาเพื่อคนตายนั้นจะทำอย่างไร ถ้าคนตายไม่ถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมาเลย? และทำไมจึงมีการให้รับบัพติศมาเพื่อคนตาย? และทำไมเราจึงเสี่ยงอันตรายตลอดเวลา? พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าตายทุกวัน ข้าพเจ้าขอยืนยันโดยความภูมิใจในพวกท่าน ที่ข้าพเจ้ามีในยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ถ้าข้าพเจ้าต่อสู้กับสัตว์ป่าในเมืองเอเฟซัสด้วยความหวังแบบมนุษย์เท่านั้น ข้าพเจ้าจะได้ประโยชน์อะไร ถ้าคนตายไม่ถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา “ก็ให้เรากินและดื่มเถิด เพราะว่าพรุ่งนี้เราก็จะตาย” อย่าหลงผิดเลย “การคบคนชั่วย่อมทำลายนิสัยที่ดีงาม” จงมีสติขึ้นมาใหม่และอย่าทำบาปอีกเลย เพราะว่ามีบางคนไม่รู้จักพระเจ้า ที่ข้าพเจ้าพูดเช่นนี้ก็เพื่อให้พวกท่านละอายใจ”
1 โครินธ์ 15:29-34 THSV11
พูดโดยสรุปง่ายๆ นั้นคือ การเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย ที่จะทำให้เราชอบธรรมนั้น หมายถึง การที่เราแน่ใจว่า
มีผู้หนึ่งเอาชนะความบาปได้ทั้งหมด ถึงแม้ความตายก็ไม่สามารถเอาชนะท่านผู้นั้นได้ ท่านผู้นี้สิ้นพระชนม์เพื่อไถ่ผู้คนของพระองค์ไว้ และท่านผู้นร้จะกลับมาและทำให้ผู้ที่เชื่อในพระองค์และวางใจในพระองค์ ฟื้นจากความตายเข้าสู่ความเป็น อมตะ แต่ทั้งหมดนั้น แลกกับ การที่ผู้เชื่อ ต้องดำเนินชีวิตตามพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ที่พระองค์ประทานให้ผ่านผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ ที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งไว้ให้ทำหน้าที่นี้ เท่านั้น และพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ของพระองค์ จะช่วยให้เราเข้าใจวิธีดำเนินชีวิตตามธรรมบัญญัติจากพระบิดาของพระองค์ได้ดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนเข้าสู่ชีวิตนิรันดร์ และท่านผู้นี้ มีพระนามว่า “ Yahshua “ หรือในภาษาไทยออกเสียงว่า “ ยาห์ชัว ” ท่านผู้นี้แหละที่เป็นพระเมสิยาห์ที่คนทั้งโลก รอคอย ใจความของข่าวประเสริฐก็มีอยู่เท่านั้นแหละครับ
แต่ความเข้าใจทั้งหมดนี้ส่งผลอย่างไรกับผู้ที่สนใจและเข้าร่วม ? นี้สิสำคัญกว่า ถ้าเราดูจาก สิ่งที่เปาโลอธิบายไว้ว่า “ถ้าไม่มีความเชื่อแบบนี้แล้วให้ทุกคนไปกินและดื่มใช้ชีวิตตามชอบใจตัวเองได้เลย สิ่งที่เปาโลพยายามประกาศทั้งหมดจะไร้ความหมาย ”
“พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าตายทุกวัน ข้าพเจ้าขอยืนยันโดยความภูมิใจในพวกท่าน ที่ข้าพเจ้ามีในยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา ถ้าข้าพเจ้าต่อสู้กับสัตว์ป่าในเมืองเอเฟซัสด้วยความหวังแบบมนุษย์เท่านั้น ข้าพเจ้าจะได้ประโยชน์อะไร ถ้าคนตายไม่ถูกทำให้เป็นขึ้นมา “ก็ให้เรากินและดื่มเถิด เพราะว่าพรุ่งนี้เราก็จะตาย””
1 โครินธ์ 15:31-32 THSV11
ในข้อนี้เปาโลอธิบายอีกด้วย ว่า เขาสู่อย่างเต็มกำลังที่จะรักษาความแบบนี้ไว้ แล้วการรักษาความเชื่อแบบนี้ ต้องต่อสู้อะไรมากมายด้วยเหรอ ทำไม เปาโลบอกว่า “ ข้าพเจ้าสู้กับสัตว์ร้ายในเอเฟซัส ” มันเกี่ยวอะไร กับความเชื่ออันนี้ ? เพราะนั้นหมายถึง เปาโลเดินอยู่ในวิถีชีวิตใหม่ตามแบบโทราห์และสูงกว่ามาตรฐานเดิมของโทราห์เสียอีกและมันคืออะไร ?
อย่างแรก เปาโลบอกว่า “ เขาตายทุกวัน ” อะไรคือ การตายทุกวันครับ นั้นคือ การปฏิเสธความต้องการเก่าๆ จากเนื้อหนังของตัวเองนั้นเอง ยอมตายต่อตัวเอง แล้วหันมาฟังเสียงและคว่มต้องหารของพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ ที่อยู่ภายในเขาและพระองค์กำลังสอนวิธีการใช้ชีวิตใหม่ๆให้กับเปาโลทีล่ะก้าวทีล่ะก้าว ทุกๆวัน เปาโงต้องทำเหมือนกับว่าตัวเองคนเก่าตายไปแล้วจริงๆ และเขากำลังฝึกมีวิตใหม่เป็นคนใหม่ตามแบบที่ยาห์ชัวทรงทำให้ดูไว้เป็นตัวอย่าง นั้นเอง
“ยาห์ชัวจึงตรัสกับบรรดาสาวกของพระองค์ว่า “ถ้าใครต้องการจะติดตามเรา ให้คนนั้นปฏิเสธตนเอง รับแอกของตนแบกและตามเรามา”
มัทธิว 16:24 THSV11
“ถ้าอย่างนั้น เราจะว่าอย่างไร? เราจะอยู่ในบาปต่อไปเพื่อให้พระคุณเพิ่มทวีขึ้นหรือ? เปล่าเลย เราที่ตายต่อบาปแล้วจะมีชีวิตในบาปต่อไปได้อย่างไร? ท่านทั้งหลายไม่รู้หรือว่า เราผู้ที่ได้รับบัพติศมาเข้าในยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์ ก็ได้รับบัพติศมานั้นเข้าในการตายของพระองค์? เพราะฉะนั้น เราจึงถูกฝังไว้กับพระองค์แล้ว โดยการรับบัพติศมาเข้าในการตายนั้น เพื่อว่าเมื่อพระบิดาทรงให้พระเมสิยาห์เป็นขึ้นมาจากตายโดยพระสิริของพระองค์แล้ว เราก็จะได้ดำเนินตามชีวิตใหม่ด้วยเหมือนกัน เพราะว่าถ้าเราเข้าสนิทกับพระองค์แล้วในการตายอย่างพระองค์ เราก็จะเข้าสนิทกับพระองค์ในการเป็นขึ้นจากตายอย่างพระองค์ เรารู้แล้วว่า คนเก่าของเรานั้นถูกตรึงไว้กับพระองค์แล้ว เพื่อตัวที่บาปนั้นจะถูกทำลายให้สิ้นไป และเราจะไม่เป็นทาสของบาปอีกต่อไป เพราะว่าผู้ที่ตายแล้วก็พ้นจากบาป”
โรม 6:1-7 THSV11
แปลว่าการรักษาความเชื่อเรื่องการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย นั้น คือการที่เราต้องตายต่อตัวเองเสียก่อน ในทุกๆวันน่ะครับ เพื่อฝึกฝนตัวเองในรูปแบบใหม่ธรรมชาติให้โดยเรียนรู้ผ่านพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์
อย่างที่สอง เปาโลบอกว่า “เขาสู้กับสัตว์ร้านในเอเฟซัส” สิ่งนี้คืออะไร แท้จริงคือ การทนทุกข์จากทุกการข่มเหงที่จะเกิดขึ้นครับ เพราะสัตว์ร้ายในเอเฟซัส ก็คือ การต่อสู้กันระหว่างคนกับบรรดาสัตว์ร้ายต่างๆ เพื่อการ เอนเตอร์เทนเมนต์ ประชาชน นั้นเอง นึกภาพในหนังเรื่อง “Gladiator” ออกมั้ยครับ นั้นแหละ เปาโลถูกจับกุม ถูกทรมานและให้ไปสู้กับสัตว์ต่างๆในสนามเพื่อเป็นของเล่นให้คนสูงศักดิ์ชมและให้ประชาชนมีความสุขไปวันๆ แต่แม้เขาต้องเจอเรื่องเลวร้ายขนาดนี้เขาก็ยังสู้ทนอย่างเต็มกำลังและไม่ยอมกลับไปใช้ชีวิตเดิมที่ต้องทำบาปเพื่อจะมีชีวิตรอด
อย่างที่สาม เปาโล บอกให้เราเปลี่ยนสังคมใหม่ ถ้าสังคมเดิมๆของเรานิยมในการทำบาปหรือ ไม่นิยมในการเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวเองไปในทางที่ดีกว่าตามโทราห์ ให้เราถอยออกจากสังคมเหล่านั้น
“อย่าหลงผิดเลย “การคบคนชั่วย่อมทำลายนิสัยที่ดีงาม””

อย่างที่ สี่ คือ ให้เรามี สติ มี ใจ ที่ชอบธรรม และ อย่าทำบาปอีก นี้แสดงให้เห็นอีกครั้งว่า เปาโล ไม่ได้บอกว่าให้เลิกถือธรรมบัญญัติ เพราะ “ทุกสิ่งที่ขัดต่อธรรมบัญญัติเป็นบาป ”
“ทุกคนที่ทำบาปก็ประพฤติผิดธรรมบัญญัติ บาปเป็นสิ่งที่ผิดธรรมบัญญัติ”
1 ยอห์น 3:4 THSV11
ดังนั้น เมื่อเราเอาคำแนะนำของเปาโลมาสรุปว่า การเชื่อการเป็นขึ้นจากตาย มาสรุปใหม่ก็จะได้ความว่า “ คือการที่เราต้องปฏิเสธความต้องการของชีสิตเดิมๆของเราทุกวันและรับเอาวิธีการใหม่ๆจากพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ที่อยู่ภายในเราทุกวันฝึกฝนทุกวัน และแม้จะมีการข่มเหงหรือความยากลำบากมาเป็ฯอุปสรรคในการเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวเองเราก็จะสู้อย่างเต็มกำลังแม้เราต้องออกจากสังคมเดิมๆที่จะพาให้เรากลับไปมีชีวิตเก่าในการบาปก็ต้องยอม เพื่อให้เรามีชีวิตใหม่ที่ไม่ทำบาปตามคำสั่งในโทราห์และจะทำได้มากกว่าที่มาตรฐานของโทราห์กำหนดไว้
ทำไมเปาโลและผู้ที่เชื่อจะสามารถทำสิ่งเหล่านี้ได้ ก็โดยความเชื่อ นั้นแหละครับ เพราะถ้าคุณเชื่อว่า ยังไงคุณก็จะฟื้นจากตาย แล้วคุณจะมีอะไรต้องกลัวอีกครับ และชีวิตนิรันดร์ก็เป็นชีวิตที่ดีมากๆ คุณจึงกล้าแลกชีวิตเก่าของคุณกับชีวิตใหม่ผ่านทาง “การเป็นสาวกของยาห์ชัวพระเมสิยาห์” นั้นเองครับ
เห็นมั้ยครับ การรับด้วยปากเชื่อด้วยใจ มีรายละเอียดที่ไม่ใช่แค่การยกมือรับว่าพระเยซูเป็นพระเจ้าและเชื่อว่าพระองค์จะบันดาลให้ทุกอย่างที่ขอ และจะได้เข้าแผ่นดินสวรรค์ ฝันไปเถอะครับมไม่มีทางที่จะได้สิ่งที่ว่ามาจากพระเมสิยาห์ที่ชื่อว่า ”ยาห์ชัว“ แน่นอน เพราะพระองค์ไม่เคยสัญญาอะไรแบบนั้นไว้เลย คนที่สัญญาคือคนที่ชวนคุณมาเข้ารีตของเขามากกว่า นั้นจึงเป็นสาเหตุให้หลายคน ล่ะทิ้งความเชื่อไปในที่สุดครับ เพราะไม่เป็นไปตามอย่างที่สัญญาเอาไว้ นั้นเอง เอาหล่ะครับ นี้คือ ความหมายที่เป็นภาพกว้าง ภาพใกล้ ของ ”ความเชื่อ“ น่ะครับเอาไว้มีมุมมองอะไรดีๆเพิ่มจะเอามาเพิ่มให้ในซีรีส์นี้ให้อีกน่ะครับ บทความต่อไปจะเป็นเรื่องอะไร ฝากติดตามน่ะครับ

The Faith. EP 13 “ Faith in resurrection from the dead”
(EN) Hello everyone, I was missing for a day yesterday because I had business to attend to in another province and was very busy all day, so I couldn’t write an article. I apologize for that. Alright, let’s continue.
Last time we talked about confessing with your mouth, which means accepting Yahshua as the Messiah and that He comes to save us from all curses. Later, we must believe with our hearts that ‘He has risen from the dead’ and that He is the sacrifice that atones for sin.
How important is the belief in resurrection? In Romans 10:10 it says, ‘For the heart which believes in Him shall be declared righteous, and the mouth that confesses Him shall live.’ Therefore, to be righteous in the eyes of Yahweh, we must believe in the resurrection. But what does the belief in resurrection look like?
The first thing is that at that time, there were groups that did not believe in the resurrection of the dead, and I am surprised that Christians today still have groups of people who do not believe in the resurrection of the dead as well. Let’s look at the scriptures.
But knowing that the one part consisted of Sadducees, and the other of Pharisees, Paul cried out in the Sanhedrin, Men, brothers, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am being judged concerning hope and resurrection of the dead! And he having spoken this, there was a discord between the Pharisees and the Sadducees; and the multitude was divided.For the Sadducees indeed say there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit. But Pharisees confess both.
Acts 23:6-8
So how does it affect us? Let’s take a look at the scripture where Paul explains the importance of believing in the resurrection.
But if Messiah is proclaimed, that He was raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is not a resurrection of the dead? But if there is not a resurrection of the dead, neither has Messiah been raised. But if Messiah has not been raised, then our proclamation is worthless, and your faith is also worthless. And also we are found to be false witnesses of Elohim, because we witnessed as to Elohim that He raised Messiah, whom He did not raise, if the dead ones are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, Messiah has not been raised. But if Messiah has not been raised, your faith is foolish; you are still in your sins. And then those that fell asleep in Messiah have perished. If we only have hope in Messiah in this life, we are of all men most miserable.
1 Corinthians 15:12-19
It is very clear that believing in the “resurrection from the dead” is extremely important and can be called the “core of faith.” Paul even stated that if we do not believe in this, we are the most pitiable people. Why is that? Because if we do not believe in the resurrection, then why do we need the Messiah? To put it another way, the “salvation” that the Bible talks about is the resurrection from the dead or the revival of all believers. When we talk about “eternal life,” we mean being resurrected from the dead and never dying again forever.
But that’s it, whether you believe it or not, there are many people who come to seek the Messiah because they want to be wealthy, want to be famous, want other blessings, want a good life, a loving husband, want to get a good job, and so on. They come to this Messiah thinking that He will be a divine being who grants blessings instantly. What’s worse is that there are preachers who insist on this kind of message that if you believe in Jesus, you will be rich, you will have a good life. Look, God has blessed me abundantly; I am wealthy, not lacking at all. Give a lot so that God will bless you abundantly, without anyone valuing the significance of being raised from the dead at all.
Now let’s continue to see what Paul says about this “faith.”
Otherwise, what will they do, those being baptized for the dead? If the dead are not at all raised, why indeed are they baptized for the dead? And why do we continue to stand in danger every hour? I affirm by your pride, which I have in Messiah Yahshua our Master, I die daily. If, after the manner of men, I was thrown to wild beasts in Ephesus, what is the profit to me if the dead are not raised? “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” Do not be led astray; bad companionships ruin good habits. Awake your hearts to righteousness, and do not sin; for some have not the knowledge of YAHWEH. I speak to your shame.
1 Corinthians 15:29-34
In simple terms, it means believing in the resurrection from the dead, which gives us righteousness. It means that we are certain that someone has overcome sin completely, and that even death could not conquer Him. He died to redeem His people, and He will return to bring those who believe in Him and trust in Him back from death to immortality.
But all of this is exchanged for the fact that believers must live their lives according to the Holy Spirit that He has given through His appointed servants who are assigned to this task. And His Holy Spirit will help us understand how to live according to the commandments from His Father better and better until we enter eternal life. This person is named ‘Yahshua,’ or in Thai pronounced as ‘Yahshua.’ This is the Messiah that the whole world is waiting for. The essence of the Gospel is indeed just that.
But how does this understanding affect those who are interested and participate? This is what is more important. If we look at what Paul explains, “If there is no faith like this, then everyone can eat and drink and live according to their own desires. Everything that Paul has tried to proclaim would be meaningless.”
I affirm by your pride, which I have in Messiah Yahshua our Master, I die daily. If, after the manner of men, I was thrown to wild beasts in Ephesus, what is the profit to me if the dead are not raised? “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
1 Corinthians 15:31-32
In this point, Paul explains that he fights with all his strength to maintain this faith. And does maintaining this faith require a lot of struggle? Why does Paul say, ‘I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus’? How is that related to this faith? Because it means Paul is living a new life according to the Torah and is even above the original standards of the Torah, and what does that mean?
First, Paul says, “He dies every day.” What does it mean to die every day? It means to deny the old desires of his flesh. He chooses to die to himself and turns to listen to the voice and guidance of the Holy Spirit within him, as He teaches Paul how to live a new life, step by step, every day. Paul must act as if the old man has truly died, and he is practicing to have a new life as a new person, following the example that Yahshua set for him.
Then Yahshua said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him bear his torture stake, and let him follow Me.
Matthew 16:24
What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Let it not be! We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it? Or are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Messiah Yahshua were baptized into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death that as Messiah was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together with Him in the likeness of His death, so also shall we be in the resurrection, for we know this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, so that we no longer serve sin. For he who is dead has been freed from sin.
Romans 6:1-7
It means that preserving the faith in resurrection requires us to die to ourselves every day in order to train ourselves in a new form of nature, learning through the Holy Spirit.
Secondly, Paul says, ‘He fought with wild beasts at Ephesus.’ What does this mean? It truly means enduring all the persecutions that will occur. Because the wild beasts in Ephesus refer to the battles between people and various wild beasts for the entertainment of the public. Can you picture it in the movie ‘Gladiator’? That’s it. Paul was imprisoned, tortured, and forced to fight against wild animals in the arena for the amusement of nobles and to bring joy to the people day by day. But even though he had to face such terrible things, he still fought back with all his strength and refused to return to his old life of sin just to survive.
Thirdly, Paul tells us to change the old society. If our old society promotes sin or does not encourage changing ourselves for the better according to the Torah, let us withdraw from those societies.
Do not be led astray; bad companionships ruin good habits.
1 Corinthians 15:33
The fourth point is to have mindfulness and a righteous heart, and not to commit sins again. This shows once again that Paul did not say to abandon the commandments, because ‘everything that goes against the commandments is sin’.
Everyone practicing sin also practices lawlessness, and sin is the breaking of the Torah.
1 John 3:4
Therefore, when we summarize Paul’s advice on believing in the resurrection, we can conclude that it means “we must deny our old sinful desires every day and embrace new ways from the Holy Spirit within us, training ourselves every day. Even when faced with persecution or hardships that act as obstacles to our transformation, we will fight with all our strength, even if it means leaving our old social circles that might lead us back to our old sinful lives. We must be willing to do so in order to have a new life that does not sin according to the commandments of the Torah and to achieve more than what the standards of the Torah set forth.”
Why can Paul and those who believe do these things? It’s by faith. Because if you believe that you will rise from the dead anyway, then what else do you have to fear? And eternal life is a very good life, so you are willing to exchange your old life for a new life through ‘being a disciple of Yahshua the Messiah’.
Do you see, confessing with the mouth and believing with the heart has details that are not just about raising your hand to accept that Jesus is God and believing that He will grant everything you ask for, and that you will enter the kingdom of heaven? Dream on, you won’t get what was said from the Messiah named ‘Yahshua’ for sure, because He never promised anything like that. The one who makes promises is the one who invites you to join his cult more than anything else, and that is the reason many people eventually abandon their faith, because it does not go according to what was promised. Alright, this is the broad picture and a closer view of ‘faith’. If I have any good perspectives to add, I will include them in this series as well. The next article will be about what?
